Craig Jordan
Craig Jordan started practicing law in 1986. His first job as a lawyer was in the Texas Attorney General’s Office, in the Consumer Protection Division. He worked there as an Assistant Attorney General for almost 14 years. and handled a wide variety of consumer cases, including cases involving false advertising, overcharging, illegal practices in the credit card and mortgage industries, internet and computer frauds, fraudulent medical devices, drugs, and dietary supplements, auto fraud, employment scams, and many other cases in which products or services were misrepresented. The companies he prosecuted were both large and small, including fly-by-nights, the Fortune 500 and everything in between. He helped recover over one hundred million dollars in restitution for consumers during my years in the Attorney General’s Office.
He was one of the first lawyers in the State of Texas to become Board Certified in Consumer Law, and remained one of only a handful of lawyers who had that certification in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. He lectured at law conferences around the country for groups including the National Association of Attorneys General, the Food and Drug Law Institute, the Promotion Marketing Association, and the Federal Trade Commission. He was former Chair of the Consumer Law Section of the State Bar of Texas.
In 2000 he started entered private practice and in 2007 formed a partnership with Jessica Lesser. In 2009 he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and passed away in August of 2010. He built a career out of his passion and persuaded through his intellect, and sincerity. He is very much missed by the legal community, family, and friends.
